Overall fund raising levels have increased dramatically over the past couple of years. The supply of capital has grown as private equity investors raise allocations and exploit new opportunities. In addition, there are many more new funds and deals seeking capital. On balance, however, the competition for private equity funding is significant. Fundraisers will need to take measures to ensure that they stand out relative to the many other fund managers also seeking capital.
