COMMITMENTS BY INDUSTRY

The breakdown of commitments by industry reflects the substantial interest in buyout deals. Buyout fund sizes have been reaching record levels. Commitments to the venture capital sector are, however, substantially less than at the height of the Internet boom. While a number of the major venture capital fund managers are raising new funds, fund sizes are signficantly less in order to take into account the limited availability of deals.
